The popular Winged Foot 5K/10K Run & 4K Walk is back again his year, but in a slightly different format.

To ensure the health and wellbeing of all those involved, the Run and Walk is going virtual as a 3K Walk, a 5K or 10K Run and even a Half-Marathon!

The virtual race has been expanded to allow you, and your family, to tailor the running experience to fit your schedule. You will be able to complete it when it suits you during the two week window for the event.

We are bringing the race day feeling to you in a new virtual experience to ensure the health and wellbeing of all those involved in this age of COVID-19 restrictions. Whether this is your first run or you are a regular at running, you are invited to be part of this incredible event and challenge yourself whilst supporting the Combat Air Museum.

The virtual race allows you to tailor the running or walking experience to fit your schedule and ability. You can choose to start and finish the run on the same day, for a real race experience; or run your chosen distance over several days during the two week period. Whichever way you choose, we would like you to get the maximum fun and good feeling from your exercise. Once you’ve completed the chosen run (or walk), submit your times by midnight on Saturday October 10th in order to appear on our leader board. Your achievement of the chosen Run or Walk will give you the chance to win one of our trophies and prizes.

There is no minimum age for this challenge – but we do recommend under 15’s are accompanied by an adult whilst running.

Gather photos from your virtual run or walk and share these on social media with your friends. Let them know why you have decided to support our cause and why you decided to run. This is another great way to publicize your effort.

Walkers, looking for a challenge? Running 5K or 10K not for you? Why not split the distance into a few shorter segments and go on a 3K Walk. You have until October 10th to complete it. If you win or place, you will get an amazing trophy or medal at the end of your walk.

This virtual run and walk is being held in support of the Combat Air Museum, a not-for-profit educational organization located in Topeka, Kansas. The Museum does not receive public funding and needs to conduct fundraisers to help support its work of telling the story of the debt of gratitude owed to the men and women of its armed air forces from the time of World War One to the present day. Attendance at the Museum is greatly reduced in the most bitterly cold months of the winter season and yet the ongoing expenses of running a museum facility do not take a break during this time and so funds raised during this fundraiser help cushion the losses that are incurred in the winter months. Please consider helping keep the Museum’s doors open by supporting the Kilroy Virtual Run and Walk, whilst having fun and exercise at the same time.
